Simulcast
Host track, satellite track
Two defined terms from the federal pari-mutuel rules hold simulcast betting together. The host track is where a race is run. A satellite track accepts wagers on that same race from another location. With inter-track betting, money wagered at the satellite is added to the host track's pool. That leaves one pool, and a single payout is worked out from it.
Each race also needs pictures. A video crew records every race on a race night. That footage serves viewers at the track and at simulcast locations. Race dates themselves are kept on the racing pages of redshores.ca.

Betting from a dinner table
Red Shores states that a wager on the horses can be placed from a restaurant table. Red's, with Italian-inspired comfort food, faces a 14-foot screen. Its kitchen runs Sunday to Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., then Thursday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight. Top of the Park sits in three tiers above the historic oval and serves a buffet on race nights. No hours are posted for it.
Bookings for the restaurants are taken only by phone, at 902-620-4264. Online reservation requests are not accepted. At the track, a renovation installed a 40-foot video wall.

Questions
Q1Can the Simulcast Theatre be visited on a Monday morning?
Yes, from 11 a.m. The theatre runs 11 a.m. to midnight every day, Mondays included. On a holiday Monday, a call to 902-620-4222 confirms the hours.
Q2Is a bet on a race from another track kept in its own pool?
Not with inter-track betting. Money wagered at the satellite, here Red Shores, is merged into the host track's pool, and one payout comes from that pool.
Q3What time does Red's open on a Tuesday?
Red's opens at 4 p.m. on a Tuesday and serves until 10 p.m. The 11 a.m. start applies Thursday to Saturday only.
